Andhra Pradesh Governor presents Gadicherla Award to Mandali Buddha Prasad

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 14 : Governor S. Abdul Nazeer presented the Gadicherla Award 2023 to Mandali Buddha Prasad, former Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission at Krishna University in Machilipatnam on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Abdul Nazeer said “Gadicherla Harisarvottama Rao, was in the forefront during the freedom movement in Andhra Pradesh and he was a nationalist, eminent freedom fighter, versatile genius, journalist, poet, playwright, legislator, social reformer and joined the freedom movement at a very young age. Harisarvothama Rao was called the Father of Library Movement as he had devoted the later part of his life for the Library Movement and wanted the youth of this country to cultivate the habit of reading, so that they are well equipped with knowledge and get enlightened. He was a devoted Gandhian and his life itself was a message and remains as an icon for today's youth and he will be remembered for generations to come.”
The Governor also congratulated Mandali Buddha Prasad on receiving the Gadicherla Award 2023.
Later, K. Chandrasekhar Kalkura, President of Gadicherla Foundation felicitated the Governor Abdul Nazeer with a memento.
Prof. K. Hemachandra Reddy, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Prof. G. Gnana Mani, Vice Chancellor, Krishna University, Dr Raavi Sarada, Secretary, Gadicherla Foundation, P. Raja Babu, District Collector and students of Krishna University have attended the function.
Gadicherla Harisarvottam Rao was a freedom fighter and social worker from Andhra Pradesh. Every year Gadicherla Foundation (which is constituted after his name) gives Gadicherla award to people who made significant contributions in the social field.
