Curitiba [Brazil], July 18 : Former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal didn't hold back while speaking about his former manager at Flamengo, Jorge Sampaoli, calling him a "loser coach" for the treatment meted out to him at Flamengo.
In his debut for Brazil league's Athletico Paranaense on Sunday, Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal blasted his former coach Jorge Sampaoli for a lack of playing time.
Vidal came on as a substitute during Paranaense's  2-0 victory against Bahia. He shared his happiness over finally being able to play and criticised Sampaoli by calling him a "loser coach".
"I am very happy to be playing. I was always ready to play, it was just that I got stuck with a loser coach who did not know how to appreciate his players," Vidal said after the match as quoted by Goal.com.
Even though Vidal faced many issues with the club, he still walked away with a couple of trophies to add to his decorated career.  He won the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Cup with Flamengo, but, his contract was terminated at the start of this year.
During his stay in Rio de Janeiro, he featured in 21 matches, registering two goals and four assists. However, he is now looking to put things aside and look ahead to the future. He now aims to secure a starting position in Paranaense, so that he can prove himself once again.
"All that is in the past now, I am happy now and I hope to be a starter in the upcoming matches and show everything that I have done over the course of my career, which is to be a winner," Vidal added.
In Paranaense's 2-0 victory, Vitor Roque and Erick struck twice in a span of 11 minutes in the first half to hand their side a victory. Vidal will return to action for Athletico Paranaense against Vasco da Gama on Sunday in the Brazilian Serie A.
