Bastar (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 13 : The Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) on Wednesday paid tribute to a Jawan, who was killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the Bastar district.

The mortal remains of Jawan were carried by CAF personnel and a floral tribute was paid to him.

Earlier in the day, a CAF Jawan was killed and another CAF constable was injured in the IED blast by Naxals in the Narayanpur area of the Bastar district, said an official.
It comes on a day when tribal leader Vishnu Dev Sai took oath as the Chief Minister of the state.
Earlier this month, a District Reserve Guard (DRG) constable sustained injuries in an IED blast in the Sukma district.
Several areas in Chhattisgarh are severely affected by Naxalism.
The "Naxalites" have set up their bases in the forest regions of the state, providing lower administrative vacuum in those areas. They refer to the areas as "liberated from the government's rule."
