Eknath Shinde rides Tesla car, says "it is a big deal for Maharashtra"

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 16 : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took a ride in a Tesla car outside Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai.
Tesla has officially launched its Model Y electric midsize SUV in the Indian market on Tuesday.
"It is a big deal that Tesla has opened its showroom in Mumbai. Maharashtra has the highest foreign direct investment (FDI). Maharashtra has good infrastructure... Investors are willing to invest in Maharashtra because the state has become an industry-friendly state," Shinde told reporters.
Earlier, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the 'Tesla Experience Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai and welcomed Tesla's arrival to India.
The Chief Minister said, "I welcome Tesla here in Mumbai. Tesla has opened an experience centre here, and it is a statement that Tesla has arrived, and it's a statement they Tesla has arrived in the right city and right state."
"It is a matter of great joy for us that Tesla has launched its first experience in India in Mumbai. Tesla is establishing a logistics and servicing system here. Four big charging stations are also being established by them. I am happy that Tesla chose Maharashtra as the state has become a leader in electric mobility. Tesla is launching its Model Y in India. Maharashtra has the most dynamic electric mobility policy. I believe Maharashtra will be a preferred destination when they decide to do manufacturing in India," he added.
The Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant of the Model Y offers a stated range of 500 kilometers on a single charge. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. For rapid charging, the supercharge feature allows the RWD model to gain up to 238 kilometers of range in approximately 15 minutes.
The first row of seats in both Model Y features power recline, heating, and ventilation. The second row further enhances comfort with power two-way folding and heating functions.
A nine-speaker sound system is integrated for audio clarity in Tesla's Model Y. Additionally, the vehicle includes a prominent 15.4-inch touchscreen in the front row, complemented by an 8-inch touchscreen for second-row occupants.
The introduction of the Tesla Model Y in India marks a significant step for the company in the country's evolving electric vehicle landscape, offering a combination of range, performance, and advanced features.
