MP polls 2023: Govt accepts resignation of Dy Collector Nisha Bangre; likely to contest upcoming election

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 24 : The Madhya Pradesh government has accepted the resignation of a Deputy Collector of Chhatarpur district Nisha Bangre, who had resigned in June this year.
According to the order copy, the state government accepted the resignation of Nisha Bangre, Dy Collector of Chhatarpur district from government service, with effect from October 23, 2023.
Notably, Bangre resigned from her post on June 22 this year citing she did not get permission to attend the inauguration of her newly constructed house from the state government.
She wrote in her resignation letter, "I am deeply hurt by the letter of the department for not allowing me to attend the inauguration program of my own house. My religious sentiments have also been hurt when I was not allowed to have a darshan of a religious program in the said function. Therefore, I do not think it's right to continue service by compromising on my fundamental rights, religious beliefs and constitutional values. So, I resign from the post of Deputy Collector with immediate effect on June 22."
Later, she also took out a 'Nayay Pad Yatra' from Amla, Betul to CM house, Bhopal to get her resignation accepted but the police stopped her in Bhopal before she reached CM house citing not having permission for Yatra here. Bangre's yatra reached Bhopal earlier this month on October 9.
Meanwhile, there are speculations in the political corridor that Bangre is likely to contest elections from the Amla constituency in the Betul district in the forthcoming state assembly polls scheduled to be held next month.
Madhya Pradesh will undergo assembly polls on November 17 and the counting will take place on December 3. Through the polls, the state will elect legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies.
