Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 3 : Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey who came to attend the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi said that he has been coming to the temple town for the last 10 years and it is like his "second home."
"It's like my second home, this is not my first time in Varanasi. I've been coming here for 10 years now...," Massey said speaking to ANI on Friday.
Speaking about the Viksit Bharat campaign, the actor said that though late, people should work towards becoming "self-reliant."
"It's been quite late but it is finally happening. We all have to make a Viksit Bharat and move forward and unite to become self-reliant. Everyone should go and vote and exercise their right...," Massey said.
Massey was accompanied by Sri Sri Ravishankar during the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi.
"I have no words to describe this feeling. It was simply grand," Ravishankar said speaking to ANI.
Earlier last month, several envoys and diplomats attended the spectacular Ganga Aarti at Varanasi's Dashashwamedh Ghat on Saturday as part of a mega event 'Prayas: Dharohar Kashi Ki' called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The event underscored the significance of Varanasi as a cultural hub and showcased the city's timeless charm to an international audience.
Through initiatives like these, Varanasi continues to strengthen its ties with the global community while preserving its rich heritage and traditions.
As dusk settled over the ghats of Varanasi, the glow of diyas illuminated the riverbanks, symbolizing not only the beauty of tradition but also the unity of diverse cultures coming together in celebration.
