Mumbai, May 20 (ANI): Around 1,500 cases of mucormycosis (also called Black Fungus) have been reported in the Maharashtra, informed state Health Minister Rajesh Tope on May 19 while addressing a press conference in Mumbai. He also said the state is facing shortage of medicine that is used in the treatment of the patients infected with mucormycosis. “There're about 1,500 mucormycosis cases. We've decided to provide free treatment in hospitals under Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and to govt hospitals. State will provide them with Amphotericin B vials. Global tender has also been issued,” Tope said.
