Srinagar (J&K), Mar 05 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Department organised an awareness camp in Srinagar to reach out to the handloom weavers and artisans. Assistant Director of Handicrafts of Srinagar, Mushtaq Ahmad said, “The awareness program is an initiative by government to make artisans and weavers aware about all the government schemes for their welfare. So, that’s why we have organised this program at Craft Community Centre, Safakadel.” The objective was to inform the weavers and artisans about various schemes of government such as Artisan Credit Card Scheme, Financial Support for Cooperatives/Self help groups, etc. An artisan said, “We came here in the awareness camp today and got relevant information. Especially, we got to know about the schemes which are available for artisans and also got to know about the types of loans we can apply for. We got so much information in the awareness camp today.”
