Gujarat local body polls: Amit Shah casts vote in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Feb 21 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast his vote for Gujarat local body elections on February 21. He cast his vote at Naranpura Sub Zonal Office in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. Amit Shah came for voting along with his family members. His son and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah came along with his spouse and daughter at the polling booth. The elections to the civic corporations were due in December last year, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the State Election Commission (SEC), the elections were scheduled to be held in two phases-on February 21 and February 28. Six municipalities scheduled to undergo polls on February 21, while polling at 81 municipalities, 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats will be held on February 28. The results for six municipal corporations will be declared on February 23, while results of 81 municipalities, 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats results are scheduled to be declared on March 2.
