People across India are preferring to travel by air. The number of air passengers is increasing day by day, and airports are getting busier. Therefore, efforts are being made to make the air travel experience faster and smoother for the passengers. For this a pioneering initiative has been taken by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. In line with the vision of Digital India set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Digi Yatra program has been launched. With the help of Digi Yatra app, passengers can access airport check points only through their facial recognition technology and about 50 percent of their time at airports could be saved. Digi Yatra was launched on 1st December 2022 by Hon'ble Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at New Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi airports.
