Sonipat (Haryana), October 07 (ANI): After the World Health Organization (WHO) issued an alert on four India-made cough syrups used for paediatric groups, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has started an urgent investigation in this regard. The death of 66 Gambian children was due to consuming of an Indian cough syrup manufactured by Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd in India. A CDSCO team reached the company’s Sonipat manufacturing unit for investigation but found it closed. The drug regulators however, collected the samples of cough syrup from the manufacturing facility. The WHO has also issued a medical alert in this regard, results of which are expected to come in the next two days.
