UK-based Kerala man builds his own aircraft to travel with his family

Alappuzha (Kerala)/ London (UK), July 28 (ANI): Ashok Thamarakshan, a UK-based Mechanical engineer from Kerala, built his own aircraft to travel with his family. He named his aircraft ‘G-Diya’, G represents the icon of flights in London and his younger daughter’s name ‘Diya’. Ashok got the idea of making an aircraft during the COVID lockdown. He began building aircraft in May 2019 and completed it on November 21, 2021. Ashok completed the project with an expenditure of 1,40,000 euros. Earlier, he got pilot licence from British Civil Aviation Authority after taking several test flights for 3 months. The Kerala youth took his first flight with his family to UK on 6 May, 2022. Apart from the UK, the family has travelled to Germany, France, Italy.
