Shikara Carnival organised at Dal Lake in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 06 (ANI): Tourists have been enjoying unique Shikara Carnival at the world famous Dal Lake. Dal Lake is one of the world’s most famous water bodies that attracts thousands of tourists from across the world. For the promotion of Tourism sector, Department of Tourism with Pooja Travels organised the unique Shikara Carnival to attract tourists at large scale. It was started from Jetty Number 12 of Dal lake and concluded at Char Chinar. During this unique carnival, almost forty Shikara boats were knotted with each other which resulted in the atmosphere of Dal Lake looking more beautiful. More than seventy visitors including some prominent tour and travel operators of the country participated in this Shikara carnival. Tourists were excited as they never got this type of experience anywhere in the world. They hope that this type of unique and attractive Shikara carnivals will continue. Presently, the tourist season is on peak in the valley and tourists are visiting different places of the valley including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg Mughal Gardens and Dal Lake.
