New Delhi, July 11, (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a Defence program on Artificial Intelligence organised by Department of Defence Production on July 11. He talked about the importance of Artificial Intelligence in various sectors and its relevance in present context.He said, “Artificial intelligence has improved the agricultural sector including overall harvest quality called as precision agriculture. AI is becoming helpful in detection of pests and diseases in plants and crops. Similarly, AI is strengthening trade, commerce and transport sector too.”“Military sector too is using AI for warfare and training of soldiers,” he added.He further said, “We have tried to make AI an integral part of defence sector by establishing institutions like Defence Artificial Intelligence Council and Defence Artificial Intelligence Project Agency.”He concluded by saying that India needs to develop its artificial intelligence technology so that no other power is able to rule India. We have to make sure that the technology is not used for ill purposes but for humanitarian causes and world peace
