Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan launches ‘Baku Evenings’ with Hindi-Sanskrit interactive session

Feb 22, 2026

Baku (Azerbaijan), Feb 22 (ANI): Embassy of India in Azerbaijan has launched Baku Evenings, a new cultural outreach initiative in Baku, aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties. The inaugural programme featured an interactive session on Sanskrit and Hindi, bringing together students, scholars, the Indian diaspora, and cultural enthusiasts. Students from the Azerbaijan University of Languages, guided by lecturer Dhruv Trivedi, recited Sanskrit shlokas and engaged in Hindi conversations. Ambassador Abhay Kumar highlighted Sanskrit as India’s ancient wisdom and Hindi as its evolving cultural voice. The evening concluded with readings from Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore and an Indian culinary spread. The Baku Evenings series will continue promoting Indian culture, arts, education, and heritage in Azerbaijan.
