Farmers and nationalist groups in Sindh have united to oppose the federal government's plans to build six new canals on the Indus River, claiming they will exacerbate water scarcity in the province. The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture and other organisations criticised the projects for ignoring Sindh's water rights, while nationalist leaders accused federal authorities of bias. Protests are planned across Sindh starting November 23.
