Pakistan: PPP criticises PML-N for maritime authority, seeks council meeting

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has expressed strong reservations over the establishment of the Pakistan Maritime and Seaport Authority by the federal government, accusing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of excluding key allies from the decision-making process. PPP leader Shazia Marri criticised the lack of consultation, calling it a violation of the Constitution, and demanded a Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting. Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh countered the claims, stating that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and PPP leaders were consulted. The issue underscores growing tensions between the coalition partners amidst a fragile political alliance.
