Customers react as McDonald’s drops tomatoes from its menu

New Delhi, July 08 (ANI): McDonald’s removed tomatoes from its menu at its outlets in parts of Delhi. The fast-food chain has removed tomatoes from its burgers due to supply issues. McDonald’s has cited ‘quality specifications’ as the reason behind its removal. “We, at McDonald’s India – North and East, are committed to the highest standards of food quality and safety. Due to seasonal crop issues arising out of farm fields in a few regions, there are not enough quantities meeting our quality specifications available. To ensure our customers get the best quality we are known to serve, we are constrained to hold tomatoes for the time being. We reiterate that it is not due to the surge in the prices. It is only due to non-availability of tomatoes meeting our quality specifications. We would like to bring to your notice that restaurants mostly in Punjab-Chandigarh area where we are able to source adequate quantities, we continue to serve tomatoes in our menu,” said McDonald’s India - North and East Spokesperson. However, customers are not satisfied with tomato-less items at the fast food chain
