Hyderabad, July 16 (ANI): Telangana Government sanctioned 17 crore rupees for the salaries of Imams and Muezzins of the state. Through the Telangana Wafk Board, the amount will be distributed to all the Mosques in the state every month. Telangana Government pays Rs 5,000 every month as an honorarium for Imams and Muezzins of the state. With this Government Scheme, thousands of Imams and Muezzins are getting benefited. “I thank CM KCR for sanctioning Rs 17 crores for salaries of Imam and Muezzins, that were pending for past 3 months. Two month's salary amounting to Rs 10 crore has already been released, rest too would come by July 18,” said Mohd Masiullah Khan, Chairman Waqf Board of Telangana. “Telangana government is providing salary for Imam and Muezzins. It’s a great thing that the government is doing. We have seen many governments but none supported the minorities, however CM KCR is helping a lot, there will be some delay sometime but remaining time they will get salaries in their accounts. CM KCR is helping poor Muslim people on humanitarian ground. The Muslim community respects Imam and Muezzins a lot. The government helping them financially is a great thing. I thank once again to CM KCR and Telangana government for helping the poor people in the state,” said Mohd Ismail Ansari, a local.
