J&K: Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from Nepal receive warm welcome in Kathua

Kathua (J&K), July 05 (ANI): A group of 33 Amarnath Pilgrims from Nepal reached to the Holy Amarnath Cave for the ‘darshan’ at Kathua’s Lakhanpur city in Jammu and Kashmir on July 05. They received a warm welcome from the BJP Kathua unit led by District Development Council (DDC) Kathua Chairman Col Mahan Singh and BJP Leader Munish Sharma. They created a great atmosphere with drum beating and also put garlands on the pilgrims. Sweets were distributed among the pilgrims. Slogans of ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ and dancing on the slogans exhibited heaven on earth. Jammu and Kashmir administration has also made better arrangements for all pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra. The annual Amarnath Yatra began on July 1 with the first batch of pilgrims starting their journey from Baltal base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal to Amarnath Cave. The 62-day pilgrimage will culminate on August 31. The pilgrims will undertake a 12-km journey from the base camp to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas located at an altitude of about 13,000 feet. The first batch of pilgrims reached Baltal base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Friday for Amarnath Yatra 2023.
