TRS MLC K Kavitha urges BJP govt not to call welfare schemes ‘freebies’

Hyderabad, Aug 09 (ANI): Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLC K Kavitha on August 09 criticised the Central government over freebies and urged the BJP government not to call welfare schemes ‘freebies’. She calls these welfare schemes ‘the responsibility of the Central government’. While talking to ANI, K Kavitha said, “Majority of Indian population is poor, every govt - be it Centre or State - runs welfare schemes for them. BJP is creating an atmosphere and calling the welfare schemes for the poor, freebies. I request the BJP government to not call welfare schemes, freebies.” “These are responsibilities of government-be it State or Centre. Stop insulting the poor, these are not freebies. Instead, support the welfare schemes of State governments & give them independence if you don't want to support them so that they can continue with their welfare schemes. The manner in which you are attempting to force the State governments to shut these down by creating an atmosphere is not correct. This will not help the poor,” she added.
