Indian origin physicians distribute laptops to needy students in USA’s Rockville

Jul 25, 2020

Rockville (USA), July 25 (ANI): As schools and colleges have switched to remote learning in response to the coronavirus crisis, many students and families in marginalized communities are in need of laptop computers. A group of doctors from Indian origin are bridging the digital divide by donating laptops to needy students so that they can study online. These doctors have donated over 20 laptops to the needy students. The Greater Washington Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GWAPI), a group of 500 plus medical professionals in the Washington DC metro area donated laptop computers worth $10,000 to the under-resourced students of Montgomery College in Rockville. On July 24, a contactless drive-thru was specially set up where families received brand new and some fully refurbished laptops.
