2030 कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की तैयारी के तहत अहमदाबाद टिकाऊ और आधुनिक परिवहन व्यवस्था को तेज़ी से सशक्त बना रहा है। इस दिशा में बस रैपिड ट्रांजिट सिस्टम (BRTS) अहम भूमिका निभा रहा है। लगभग 380 बसों के साथ, जिनमें 150 इलेक्ट्रिक बसें शामिल हैं, BRTS 160 किलोमीटर के नेटवर्क पर रोज़ाना 2.2 लाख से अधिक यात्रियों को सेवा दे रहा है। शहर का लक्ष्य भविष्य में पूरी तरह इलेक्ट्रिक परिवहन व्यवस्था स्थापित करना है। साथ ही, अहमदाबाद जनमार्ग लिमिटेड यात्रियों की सुरक्षा को प्राथमिकता देते हुए स्मार्ट सीसीटीवी से लैस केंद्रीय कमांड एंड कंट्रोल सेंटर के जरिए 24×7 निगरानी कर रहा है। यात्रियों के अनुसार, बेहतर स्वच्छता, निगरानी और नियंत्रण से यात्रा पहले से अधिक सुरक्षित हुई है, खासकर महिलाओं और रात में सफर करने वालों के लिए। अहमदाबाद का BRTS अब एक गेम्स-रेडी, वैश्विक मानकों वाला परिवहन मॉडल बनकर उभर रहा है।
