Khartoum (Sudan), April 17 (ANI): The struggle for Sudan’s power escalated on April 15 as clashes were reported between the military, paramilitary forces. Panic gripped the country as explosions along with heavy shelling were heard across Sudan’s capital of Khartoum on April 15. Amid the heavy shelling and clashes, an Indian national lost his life after being hit by a stray bullet. Expressing grief over the incident, EAM Jaishankar raised concerns over the prevailing situation in Sudan. Earlier, Embassy in Sudan urged Indians to postpone their plans who are planning a trip to clash hit country. On April 17, India advised its nationals to “stay calm and peaceful and stay away from open spaces”. The death toll from fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has risen to 97, according to The Washington Post. The two sides have been competing for power as political factions negotiate on forming a transitional government after 2021 military coup.
