World Post Day 2022: Significance, theme and History

New Delhi, Oct 09 (ANI): World Post Day is celebrated on October 09 each year. As per UN World Post Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in Bern, Switzerland, in 1874. 'Post for Planet’ will be the theme for World Post Day in 2022. Every year, World Post Day is celebrated by more than 150 countries through a variety of events and activities They are typically commemorated to launch or advertise fresh postal goods and services. In several countries, World Post Day is celebrated as a paid holiday. Since Ancient Times postal services have been used, when individuals wrote messages that couriers would then carry on foot or by horseback. Postal systems started to emerge and spread throughout various nations in the 1600s.
