Feb 15, 2023

Nadi (Fiji), Feb 15 (ANI): Calling the era when countries equated progress and modernity with westernization a thing of past, Union External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on February 15 in Fiji said that the cultures, traditions, and languages that were suppressed during the colonial era, are raising their voices back at the global stage. The remark by the Union Minister was made at the 12th World Hindi Conference being held in Fiji. “The era when we equated progress and modernity with westernisation is behind us. Many such languages, and traditions which were suppressed during the colonial era are again raising their voice on the global stage.
