UP: Langoor cut-outs to scare monkeys away in Meerut

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), April 02 (ANI): While speaking about the increasing presence of monkeys, Meerut Divisional Forest Officer Rajesh Kumar on April 01 in Meerut, informed that the authorities are keeping cut-outs of Langoors to scare away the monkey in an experiment. He said that if it works, then a similar idea will be used for the public places as well. “Increasing monkey presence is a concern in Northern India, hence, Langoor cut-outs have been put up in our areas as part of an experiment. Wherever there're Langoors, monkey presence is reduced. In line with this principle, we derived some good results,” Kumar said. “The experiment has derived us good results, some changes will be made, and then we will take it (experiment) forward, so that cut outs can be put up in public places in Meerut,” he added.
