Odisha train accident: “This is like a rebirth…” Family survives mishap, recalls derailment timeline

Purba Medinipur (WB), June 03 (ANI): Getting a second chance in life is like a rebirth, family survived the Odisha train mishap and returned back home in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur on June 03. The family was on its way to Chennai when the incident took place. Narrating the experience, the family member described what they went through. Loosing hope to survive the mishap, the surviving family recalled the ‘cries and blood’ visuals from the hearth-wrenching incident. “We were on our way to Chennai. Suddenly there was a jerk and then a lot of smoke. I couldn’t see anyone. The local people helped us later. We were really scared,” the survivor said. Odisha’s Balasore train tragedy that happened on June 02, has claimed 238 lives so far, meanwhile, 900 people have been injured. 2 passenger trains along with a goods train were involved in the accident due to a train derailment, that resulted in the train collision.
