Indian National’s demise in Turkey earthquake leaves his family in shock in Uttarakhand’s Kotdwar

Kotdwar (Uttarakhand), Feb 11 (ANI): An Indian National missing since the earthquake hit Turkey on Feb 06. He was found dead among the debris in Malatya on Feb 11. Family of the deceased mourned his demise, at their residence in Uttarakhand’s Kotdwar. The deceased from Kotdwar, identified as Vijay Kumar, was on a business trip to Turkey. A powerful earthquake hit Turkey on Feb 6. The death toll stood at more than 24,000 across southern Turkey and northwest Syria four days after it struck. Friend of Deceased said, “We got a call from the Turkey Embassy asking for some identification mark to recognise the body they found under the rubble. Then, after giving the information they confirmed that Vijay is no more between us. He left for Turkey on Jan 22 on a business trip and was meant to return on Feb 20. But due to the devastating earthquake on Feb 06, he was unable to come back. As airplane services are not available right now his body will be sent to us within 2-3 days. The father of Vijay Kumar died few days’ back. Bodies of 2-3 people have also been found.”
