Odisha STF exposes anti-India social media plot, arrests accused for sharing OTPs with Pak agencies

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), June 12 (ANI): In a crackdown against anti-India elements, Odisha STF arrested fifth accused on charges of OTP sharing with Pakistan. The accused is identified as Pritam Kar, a native of Bhurunga village in Odisha’s Jajpur. According to the STF, he was in direct touch with Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIO) and ISI agents. It is also learned that SIM and debit card used by the main accused in 2022’s Mangalore auto blast was also provided by Pritam Kar. The accused, Pritam Kar has sold thousands of pre-activated SIM cards, OTPs and mule accounts/digital wallets. He and his associates generated OTPs with pre-activated SIM cards and created various social media accounts. These accounts aimed at spreading anti-India activities like spying, radicalisation, and honey-trapping. The accused was also the admin of the WhatsApp group named “All saving AC available”. Earlier on May 14, Odisha STF arrested three persons in this regard and a 4th accused on June 8 on similar charges. The accused were identified as Pathanisamant Lenka, Saroj Kumar Nayak and Soumya Pattanaik. Till now during raids, various materials such as 19 mobile phones, 47 pre-activated SIM Cards, 61 ATM cards have been recovered.
